Has anybody run 17” spoke wheels setup on the V7? I'm exploring the idea of running the following setup:
17x3.5 rim with 120/70 tire on the front.
17x3.5 rim with 140/80 tire on the rear.

I'd watch the front tire width for clearances, but if you've measured and it works (same with the rear), go for it. I've never been disappointed with the results of similar changes on my 1100s.

You (capri29) said you want to run this on your V7:
17x3.5 rim with 120/70 tire on the front.
17x3.5 rim with 140/80 tire on the rear.

My 2004 BREVA V750ie OEM tires:
F: 110/70-17 Pirelli Sport Demon = 110mm (4.3") Wide x 77mm (3.0") Tall
R: 130/80-17 Pirelli Sport Demon = 130mm (5.1") Wide x 104mm (4.1") Tall

The 130/80-17 Pirelli on the rear barely clears the swing arm so you'd better measure with precision before trying to use a 140/80 tire on the rear.

Well, it seems like to 140 tires are not possible:

The clearance between right hand side of the stock 130/80 Pirelli Sport Demon and the swingarm is 10mm (measured on my 2014 V7 Special). Statically, there is sufficient clearance to install the 140 tires. However, based on the data from Pirelli motorcycle guide, when in service, the width of 140 tires e.g Sport Demon expand to a dimension whereby it results in either a marginally close clearance or zero clearance. I believe the same is true for all other 140 tires. For this reason, I’ve decided not to take to risk to run 140 tires on the rear wheel.

I will be going for the following setup: Front 17x2.5 rim with either 100/80 or 110/80 tires, and on Rear 17x3.5 rim with either 130/70 or 130/80 tires.

If anyone has success running the 140 tires on the rear, please update this post.

With 50 hp (on a real good day) any Guzzi 750cc is not going to need a big meaty rear tire to transfer its modest horsepower to the ground. The 130/80-17 on the rear does just fine for me & my Breva 750.

Rear tires last about 7,000 miles for me. Of course, I'm not doing wheelies in the first 5 gears (I wish) - or Sturgis style burnouts until something pops (who wants to?).

Also, avoid the custom chopper look with a 11" fat rear tire and only 75 hp to turn it. Wouldn't become a Guzzi of any size (even Griso).
