New bike owners - Do you have pressure in the tank? Or suction? It could be one of the multiple hoses that has been pinched off by sloppy factory assembly. On my new V7 for example with all the stuff they cram together I located two full kinks and two partials. Both tank vents hoses had an excess at the top. Apparently when the tank was set they just folded up. I replaced both hoses as they were the wrong size for the nipples (too loose) and stuck a clamp on both. That way I can lower the tank and lightly pull each hose at the rate of descent without them popping off. On the V7 you can (with a flashlight) see where these hoses connect to be sure. Also look for better re-routing if possible. A partial kink was found in a plastic check valve (filter?) that was mangled. When examined this was OK though.
A bit more alarming was the discovery of the fuel line being crushed as it went over the frame. Thankfully this is a hard hose and was not fully "engaged". If this hose is pulled forward by aprox 1 inch it will lie free of the frame. Zip ties are in order here.
