Heated Grip Connections? Pics 2007 Breva 1100

I picked up a OEM kit for my 07 Breva. The install was easy, two set screws per grip and longer bolts for the bar end weights, no messing around. The kit even came with the proper dash switch. They work well and get hot enough for Wisconsin. They are a bit pricier than after market, but the dash was designed for them. I suppose being an electrical engineer makes me weary of burning out the dash.

I also have factory heated grips still in there bag but it seems that later kits do not come with the dash switch needed on the Breva 1100 and my 1200 Sport. Anyone know where I can get the factory button before I go to an electrical shop to find something to fit,

I ordered my kit from AF1, the button was in the pictures of the kit but did not arrive in the kit. I contacted them and they sent it. I am sure they could look it up.

I'm guessing you have the later heated grips which fit the Norge and later CARC models with the joystick control on the LH handlebar switchblock. These versions have the switch built into the switchblock.

It's been a while, but I don't think your kit will fit the 1100 Breva or the 1200 because of the way the cable on the throttle heated grip leaves the handlebar. It's nearly ten years since I tried to fit the type of kit you have to a Norge, and it became obvious it wasn't going to work.

Bugger I hope not otherwise I will have a heated grip kit for sale.
Just had a quick look and unless the design of throttle cable attachment differ then I don,t see a problem fitting them to my 1200 Sport.

The issue is the throttle cables for the Breva & 1200 Sport (2V) go over the front brake lever, the Norge and later bikes with the joystick switchblocks go under the front brake. I think you'll find that the cable for the heated grips will be leaving the twistgrip at an unacceptable angle.

Whether you can move the cable around on the twistgrip is a consideration I didn't venture into, I just ordered the correct version.

Heated grip kit part number for the Breva 1100 & 1200 Sport: 05678230

Heated grip kit part number for Norge and others with the joystick control: 977767 (LHS) & 977768 (RHS).

Got ya. Throttle cables on my brothers 1200 Sport go under the lever and he has heated grips but he also has alternative bars which are wide while I have Mana bars and I think the cable will hit the tank at full lock if a do the same.

Anyone in NZ want to buy a heated grip set for Norge ? P/N 977711
