I've read that the heated grips for a Stelvio are worked via the on board trip computer, this is great if true. Has anybody fitted any and do they simply plug in as described?

Yes they work as advertised. The wiring is all there and they are controlled by the bike.

They were at one stage programmed so the bike had to be stationary to change the settings (there are three heat settings) which many complained about, not sure if MG have changed that.

Welcome to the Board Bluntly, congrats on the new Stelvio. I think you might be the first on here with an NTX - lots of knowledeable boffins here to help - looking foward to lotsa pics and stories of your bike.

You can get the factory ones and simply plug them in, and you are good to go.
I installed some after market units and had to splice in my own connectors.

Thanks,
I was thinking of getting the factory ones, provided they're easy fit I could do it myself.
I like the idea of controlling them through the dash.

I spliced my after market ones into the factory connectors and control then from the dash.
Be aware, the dash control is nice, three power levels, built in ON indicator, but you can ONLY change it when completely stopped. It sucks in a way.
