Hello from Corbin

All very interesting.

The importance of shape versus softness is a vexed issue.

Definitely the most comfortable seat I've experienced was a Corbin on a Honda VFR750. Firm, but superbly shaped and supportive.

I used to think that the Breva seat was pretty good - broad where it matters, grippy if that's what is wanted, quite well shaped and neither too hard nor too soft - but after several hours both my light pillion and I tend to get saddle sore. Maybe the foam does settle as suggested by John.

My Buell Ss has a seat which doesn't look as if it should be comfortable, but for me at least it really is, probably due to the soft gel cushion. A bit too short for the pillion though.

Somehow I like a soft seat - maybe because my arse is getting a bit boney now - but the comfort of that Corbin/VFR seat makes me unsure about which is the better approach. What does Corbin Michael think?

Don't know what to say. Have over 11,000 miles on my Norge, by far more than half on the Guzzi lowered gel seat, some of it on days a lot longer than 300 miles, it's been just as good at the end of the day as the beginning. Stock height seat, can't say, didn't have that long, with my inseam absolutely needed lowered seat.

Hi Mike/Corbin, We welcome your interest and your seats! I would like to put a pitch in for the new V7classic . I don't think a king and queen monster would work but something close to the current style with Corbin foam and cover options?? I can ride the stock seat ok on longer 120mi rides but my wife won't ride at all. Can't really blame her because the seat really doesn't work for passengers. It does work ok for my tailbag however..and I see that a Cafe' solo style will be available from Guzzi . Over different bikes and years I have always found Corbin seats to be one of the best investments!!!

I'll put my Butt in ,er 2 cents in for a seat for the V7 Classic also, the biggest complaint is it's too hard.

Hey gang, thanks for the feedback.

We've noted the V7 requests and will pass those onto the R & D boyz.
If there's enough demand for a dual or cafe-style seat we'll do it.

It's always been a staple of ours to recommend the firmness of our saddle, as the softer foam saddles do feel nice (very nice i might add) but have proven to offer little long term support and comfort. The foam we use now is quite firm but does break down and shapes itself to your own butt. It won't be for everyone, and the break-in time will vary as no two riders are the same. If need be we can always rework a saddle so it's more shape-specific to your own needs. We do want to make sure the seat will be the best for what you're paying as this isn't a cookie cutter bike that you'll take around the corner to the store. :)

Cafe for me for the V7C as I don't ever ride 2 up and Hepco Becker has a tail rack available now for the lost carrying space that a cafe seat will bring.

G'day,

With the current standard seat on my 1200 Sport my wife states that the rear of the seat feels a little sharp and uncomfortable.
I know she needs the comfort to keep her happy.
Hope this imput can elviate this problem.

There wasn't a lowered seat in the country when I bought my Norge, so the dealer got a local trimmer to cut mine down.

He did a stunning job, can't tell it isn't factory.

THe interesting bit is that the gel pads on the standard seat I found to be uncomfortable, they poked me rather. The new seat is good for 1000km days without them.
