All very interesting.
The importance of shape versus softness is a vexed issue.
Definitely the most comfortable seat I've experienced was a Corbin on a Honda VFR750. Firm, but superbly shaped and supportive.
I used to think that the Breva seat was pretty good - broad where it matters, grippy if that's what is wanted, quite well shaped and neither too hard nor too soft - but after several hours both my light pillion and I tend to get saddle sore. Maybe the foam does settle as suggested by John.
My Buell Ss has a seat which doesn't look as if it should be comfortable, but for me at least it really is, probably due to the soft gel cushion. A bit too short for the pillion though.
Somehow I like a soft seat - maybe because my arse is getting a bit boney now - but the comfort of that Corbin/VFR seat makes me unsure about which is the better approach. What does Corbin Michael think?
