Hi guys My old bikes had a helmet lock but the Stelvio doesn't. How do you deal with that. I know most, only keep the honest crooks at bay, but I hate carrying my helmet around with me. Any ideas. Thanks

Frustrated as well.
They make some great lock systems that attach to the license plate bracket. Nice and discrete. :D

I use a padlock and a simple cable like the shorter of these two offered by aerostich:

http://www.aerostich.com/flexweave-anti-theft-cables.html

I store the cable looped around the license plate/brake light bracket, with the padlock securing it. When I park the bike I put my helmet on the seat and loop the cable through the helmet and the grab rail. The big advantage (besides economy) is that the helmet is sitting upright instead of hanging upside down, so it won't fill with water when it rains.

Does your Stelvio not have a short cable with with crimped lugs on the ends in the tool kit? It is used as a helmet lock that you use in conjuction with the small hooks under the seat along the frame rails. The Grisos and Brevas have them.

I've got one on the B11 but not on the Stelvio.
I just use a scabby old open face lid, no one has ever nicked it! :p

I checked out the good stuff on the websites and then went to canadian tire and bought a length of 1/8 plastic covered cable and some ends to make loops. I didn't have a crimper the right size so used a old flaring tool, but I think I could have used a vice to crimp the loops on. I will try it out . It only cost 5.00 so if it doesn't work well I can throw it away. It rolls up small enough to put in the glove box and I can lock the helmet and the leather jacket together or separate. It will only keep people honest. If someone wants it bad enough they will get it no matter what you use. My Stelvio didn't come with cable but I did get 3 extra lock cylinders matched to the ignition key , whatever they are good for. Maybe Guzzi is trying to tell me something.
