Hi,need some help in finding whats wrong with my bike.
Riding down motorway at about 75mph for about 40 mins,no problems then dead,no splutter just rolled to a stop.I tryed on start button nothing, checked fuses and fuse C the 20amp small one had blown, changed it, turned it over but would not fire up.So Fuel or Electrics? tank off, felt the fuel pump as i turned the ignition, clicking and ticking as normal.Into menu for ECU diagnosis -all OK, Dashsboard- x on No2 memo dont know what that means?
Back in garage now, need any help from you guys please :?

If bike is sold by non-Guzzi conversant dealer with little knowledge and has done few miles it may still be a problem. I've been checking/replacing the hose on any 1100's, (And Calis.) that come through my W/S just on principle unless they have had the full monty new pump thing done. AFAIK the problem is now done and dusted as far as *New* bikes are concerned but any of the 1100 G's is still suspect in my book unless I know they are 'Clean'.

Pete

What bikes have you got? You have a Cali of some sort. If it is pre 2004 and has the fuel pump in the tank then it is probably worth checking. Your Griso is what an 11 or a 12. The 12's are all OK to the best of my knowledge. If it's a 2006-early 2007 1100 it's woth a squizz.

Thanks guys so this as been a problem for a while then? Iv had my bike 2 years ,900 miles on clock, 2006, second owner.
Of course next question will be is it a problem to fix? ;)

As you can see iv taken the bottom of the tank off, this is how it came out.Is it normally the black pipe that comes off or should the short end be attached to something?

It's the short one that pops off. Get a piece of fully submersible hose from Gates or similar, cut to length and replace the one that's on the filter and reconnect it to the pump spigot with good quality hose clamps done up tight. Then use a cable tie to hold the filter adjacent to the pump so it isn't so easy for the hose to blow off.

Gravy,

I'm not that familiar with the Griso. You said fuse "C" was blown. What does that one power? We still haven't figured out why that would blow. Fuel line will kill the bike, but shouldn't cause a fuse to blow.

I have a 1994 Cali 1100, and a Nov 07 reg'd G11.

I'll check them out out be sure. And just to fiddle about because I love messing with my bikes :)

Thanks Pete you`ve brought the griso back to life
As for the fuse:-
I had not used my bike for about 2 weeks so the night before i put it on trickle charge, next morning pressed the start button Nothing. Checked fuses - 20amp "C" had blown.2 hours later when the bike came to a stop tried the start button again, Nothing. Changed the fuse, it then turned over but of course it would not fire up cos the fuel line had come off!
So if anyone can solve that mystery ?
Thanks again folks you`ve restored my faith in the human race.!
