Hey again, I'm thinking of installing a high performance air filter for my V7C but have heard opposing views that some say it helps and others say it actually may hinder performance. I've installed reverse cone Mistrals. Has anyone come across this? Thx!

A high-flow filter in the stock air box offers zero gain/no benefit over the stock filter. If you modify the lid, you will see a gain in power. I'm happy to get you a high-flow re-usable filter, contact me direct again. As mentioned, revised fueling is very important.

Performance filters are available from BMC Filter, no. FM504/20, and from an Italian company, Sprint, filter no. AP8104242100

As mentioned, the factory fueling is lean, so you'd want to enrichen that.

Hi, thx for the feedback. I'm a little confused Todd. Are you saying putting a high performance filter would not help at all? What is the filter you are selling? Is it a high performance? So I'm guessing there are ways of modifying the filter box, is this quite a difficult thing to do? I'm just looking for anything to give the bike optimal performance. I've read that with the Mistral pipes a high performance filter will improve performance.

Cafe Racer Magazine drilled out the V7 airbox a few years ago (at my suggestion). They dynoed it and showed mid-rpm gains. But...they also added aftermarket exhaust and a Fatduc so it's hard to tell what caused the gains.

But they never added a performance air filter, probably because they are had to come by for the Guzzi 750.

Yes, they are hard to find. I was hoping they made a K&N filter for the 2011 V7 but so far only for the 2012 Stone. Cora's Speedshop based in the UK has them, and Todd here mentioned he can get them. I'm actually getting my 1000km tune soon and I'm sending my Ecu module to get re-flagged or perhaps even get the chip. So you say they drilled out the air box? I'm not to keen on putting holes in the box but I'd like to learn more about this anyhow. Thx guys, appreciated.
