Highway Pegs on a Breva/Norge?

I have been looking for some also. Putting on 11 hour days and 1200-1400km days, I like to be able to stretch out a bit. I am going to try to rectify this problem the same way I did on my BMW.

1. Get some good engine guards - for the Norge - Norge Stucchi engine guards
2. I am going to do some surfing thru some accessory cataloges at the local bike shop and find some pegs that will clamp onto the guards.

Hope that helps.

On long rides when I want a leg stretch I ride along standing for a while. The Breva and presumably the Norge have 'bars which make that easy.

Graham

I do that too Graham, plus you can always do the old despatch riders "trailing leg" thing.
ok if your a short arse, but anyone with long legs will soon wear out their boot soles :eek:hmy:

Yep,
Just stand UP

BUT.......then the word "Up" could be a real problem

There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that is 'UP.'

It's easy to understand UP , meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP ? At a meeting, why does a topic come UP ? Why do we speak UP and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report ?

We call UP our friends. And we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car At other times the little word has real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses. To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special .

And this UP is confusing: A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP . We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night.

We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP ! To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP , look the wordUP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4th of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions. If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP , you may wind UP with a hundred or more. When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP .

When it rains, it wets the earth and often messes things UP

When it doesn't rain for awhile, things dry UP .

One could go on and on, but I'll wrap it UP , for now my time is UP , so....... Time to shut UP.!

Oh...one more thing: What is the first thing you do in the morning & the last thing you do at night? U-P

Allank

you need to drink more

Nah Nah,
I must admit I just copied and pasted this. There was a lot more.
And......no I don't need to drink more.
I am in training for a trip on Monday from Bundaberg to Darwin and back. Ride all day for charity (prostate cancer) and party all night. Dialysis on my return. This is the third year ib a row. Next year I might take a break.

then do drink more! give the dialysis machine something to do when you return.
Ride safe and enjoy

hey take a few photos and post

Apart from those non-joys ... you guys are making me think of

canada-bc-40.jpg

;)

(which makes me think one could make forward pegs like on some bicycles ... mount the front wheel on a long enough axis that sticks out far enough ... add a cruise control, and riding becomes a tour de pied :silly:)

I looked at installing highway pegs on my Norge and found that there is no easy way to do so. I thought of attaching a peg bracket to the engine which had a vacant threaded hole on one side, but no hole on the other side so I gave up on it. I stand up on the pegs while riding for a few seconds to stretch out, just make sure there are no cops around.

Why should a cop care just becasue you are standing up on your pegs, unless you are doing a wheelie at the same time. If ticketed for that on some safety issue, I would fight that, with my 40 years biking experience as back up.
