How to fill oil ?

OK this is obviously a real newbie question. In spite of the fact that I have had 5 previous motorbikes, read my 2009 Stelvio manual over multiple times, I cannot find out how to add oil to my bike, other than through the tiny 1/4 inch hole where the dipstick pulls out from. Contrary to the manual which shows a nice big oval hole, there is no such thing. Likewise, various forum members here remark that you can remove the "plastic dip stick cover" to make fills easier. What ? doesn't exist. So, since nobody here is concerned with this, I am apparently missing something really obvious ! I hope my 62 yo eyes haven't betrayed me.
So, again I feel dumb asking, but how do you actually pour oil into the Stelvio ?

Thanks in advance. ps: at least draining seems pretty easy.......also, before responding, please be advised that the dipstick does not screw in, but simply pushes in, and that I must remove a shroud before I can access the dipstick hole........no prob, but some have suggested that you screw in the dipstick

The threaded bushing that the dipstick pushes into needs to be removed. It threads out of the case. You then have a larger hole that you can put a funnel in.

The dipstick does not screw in on the Stelvio. Some of the other bikes have a screw in dipstick. Level is measured with the stick pushed all the way in.

Many thanks Canuck!

Now all I have to figure out is how to use the 2nd ignition key, which looks like it has a chip embedded, but does not work. I know there is a complicated procedure "on-off, on-off" for codes, but I hope that isn't necessary as reading about it makes my head swim. Dealer couldn't get it to work either. This is probably another thread somewhere........

As you can probably tell, I bought this bike used "as is" and am trying to figure stuff like this out. Hence joining this forum........I love the bike so far though. My poor other bike (2010 Triumph Thunderbird) sits neglected in the garage.

The Stelvio will do that to you.........

The only procedure that I know of is in the manual, and it is indeed an on/off, key in/out kind of process. Have never had to do it but sounds straight forward, or at least as straighforward as it is for a 1980's speed computer interface.........

Do you have the user code for the bike. Hopefully they have not entered a new one. The base code is 00000. Some people used the service code of 10695 as the user code also. The procedure for a new key is in the service manual, not the user manual. Sounds like you are using the "Change Key Code" function. That just changes the user code. You need to use the Key Change Function that is in the service manual, but for that you need the user code.

OK I get it. So this involves multiple "key on, key off" turns. I know the code overall is 10695 as the previous owner had it scribbled in the manual. I have downloaded the service manual from the internet........guess I better research up on this.

Thanks again !
