Moring;

I just got a fuse tap to use to install my new Koso heated grips, but am unclear on one thing.

The tap has spots for two fuses. I "assume" that one spot is for the existing fuse and one for the new power line. Is this correct? And if yes, the I also "assume " that the bottom spot is for the original fuse and the top spot is for the new one.

Am I correct in my assumptions?

Thanks

Fuse Tap

I’ve used these type of power taps several times. They are a very clean and efficient method of tying into power without altering any existing wiring.

I have them in every fuse size in my workshop. Everything from micro-fuse size to full size fuse taps.

Good stuff in my opinion.

One last point…

The beautiful part about these things that I love, is that you can preserve the amperage fuse for the tapped circuit while reducing the fuse size for the power tap supply to further protect both circuits.

A 7.5 amp tap fuse in a 15amp circuit for example.

In the event your tap pulls too much for your device, the tap fuse will blow well before the circuit fuse.

Also, most of the quality fuses have metal points on their tops, to quickly use a continuity meter to read a bad fuse for diagnostics. Allows you to check fuses quickly without having to pull a single fuse or disturb the tap if not necessary.
