I really need some help. I bought a lightly used Audace and the seller gave me two keys. Upon returning home, I realized the side compartment has a lock but neither of the two keys unlock it. They're both ignition keys and I called the seller (an exotic car/motorcycle dealer) and they said there was no "third key" and one of the ignition keys should unlock it. Not so and now my battery is dead and I can't access that area or compartment to remove the seat/battery. I have no manual so I am flying blind. Help please? Is there a third key for this compartment and I assume you need to access to remove the seat? Thanks!

Hi Lee(?), welcome to the GT Forum and Guzzi Famiglia. Unless the ignition was replaced, the keys you have should work. You may have to jiggle it a bit, or try not inserting it fully. If that doesn't work, my shop is in Orange just North of you. Make a General appointment and pop by, sure we can be of help; https://gtmotocycles.com/pages/service
Look forward to meeting you.

Also, hope you'll add your info to the Registry as well; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/cal1400-registry-pics-thread-add-your-bike.11538/

Thank you Todd....good news/bad news.. I did gingerly wiggle it a bit, started making slight progress (about a quarter turn), felt like there might be a cable or wire inhibiting the clamp behind the lock from rotating all the way and darn it...the key broke off in the lock. I made a bad situation worse. It was working...arghhhh. So, how close is your dealership and can you handle a messed-up semi-locked compartment and a battery replacement on a 2016 Audace? I am in Orange / Santa Ana...Thx.

Welcome and bummer. 45 degrees is max it will turn. Sounds like something else is going on. I’m not a dealer, I have a full service old school hot rod Guzzi shop. Write me direct email; Todd at GuzziTech.com — or better yet, book an appointment for tomorrow first opening in the system if you can. I’ll be at my shop tomorrow with my van.
