I was playing with my knob and my ball fell off?

Swapped my rear spring out but you have to remove the manual black rotary knob to facilitate fitting through the v in the swinging arm. When I eased the knob off the ball bearing shot out from behind. Where does it go exactly? Thks

It's the (click/detent) indicator. There's a small hole with a spring which the ball lives on top of.

A dab of grease in teh indent will help locate it on re-assembly - let's hope the ball didn't go down a crack in the floorboards...

thks guys. I can see a small hole at 12 oclock on the top near to the front going down assuming the it's rotated to 12 oclock. When the tiny ball bearing sprung across the room I didn't find a spring must have lost it. I can see a dab of grease might hold the ball whilst you slid the knob over it but with a spring under it I can't understand how youd get the knob on. Maybe I can find a small spring from somewhere else but I guess its only 3mm diameter then you put the spring on the hole ball ontop and try to slide the knob on?

It's a bit late now, but when you're about to take the knob off hold the whole lot in a plastic bag, then when it all pings off it's safe in the bag.

Heh, I knew this topic would take a fun turn. None of the ball or spring is really needed Nel, don't sweat it. In my experience, replacing the shock vs. spring (or re-valve) is best bet, as both spring and valving are horrifically spec'ed for everyone but the smallest and lightest of horse jockeys.

Ok you got me - the title was done for a laugh. That Fournale shock is wow but what a price. Last stuff I got from the us (wider heated gloves and vest) UK customs really robbed me so now try to stay in the uk. Got an affordable secondhand sachs with working adjuster.

If you decide you want to replace your suspension with some good stuff, I got Hyperpro fork springs and a rear shock from here....
