• Ciao Guest, The owner of this website and GTMotoCycles.com lost his home completely on the morning of January 8th in the L.A. Wildfire Storm. Most of his neighborhood is gone, and a few friends were killed along with their pets. The GTM SHOP and STORE are functioning normally, but we DEMAND EXTREME PATIENCE on orders as we are a SMALL business and Todd usually has his hands on nearly every order before it goes out. You can find more info on a post named L.A. Wildfires in the USA section. Our heart and best go out to everyone in this horrific disaster.

Has anyone converted an 1100 EFI engine to carbs and used an Ignitech ignition? I was wondering if you used the original pickup?

I know there are other ignitions out there but I particularly want to use it as I have a spare TCIP4 unit.

Also, what does the original pickup use to trigger? is it a missing tooth?

A bunch of riders here in States have done this mod using part of ECU for timing.
The cam sensor for timing does pic up a tooth or more that is missing on the camwheel.
Get a shop manual it's all in there.

The Ignitech plugs into the stock cam sensor connector. Yes, it 'reads' off the missing tooth cam wheel. Contact Ignitech, they will be able to help you further and are conversant in English. I just fitted one of their units.

Thanks, my unit arrived yesterday!
