Griso Guy
Cruisin' Guzzisti
For a Guzzi Tech or a Guzzi GuRu.
When installing a new ignition key immobilizer aerial. What all must I do or need. Please keep in mind that dumb ass me left my spare key in a storage shed in AZ.
Am I able to install the new aerial with only the 1 key or doesn't it matter since all it does is send a signal to the dash & ECU? If I need both keys, than I suppose I need to purchase a new ignition switch as well.
Reason for replacement of immobilizer aerial. I do not believe that it is a Guzzi issue, I believe that it will be a major screwup by the dealership mechanic. Prior to picking up the Griso there was a issue with tail light not working or something to that matter. The mechanic I believe removed the aerial not remembering how the aerial was routed. He placed it over the frame brace behind the steering head, thus crushing & having excess pulling on the wire due to fuel cell on top of the wire.
If the dealer's mechanic did not do this mistake, than it may have been a assembly foul up. Check you aerials & make certain that it is run between the ignition swich and a 4mm flat brace next to the switch.
