One of the first jobs I did was to replace the springs in the PHF36 carbs with the lightest ones available. That made a lot of difference, but there was room for improvement. So I put on some barrel shaped grips, so much better.
Riding in the dark, the reflector in the headlamp was poor, replaced that with an aftermarket item, so much better. My FJ1200 3CV was even worse!
Fork stanchion replaced as one was scored, surprised to see that it runs straight into the lower part and is not bushed.
New rear shocks, fitted repair kit to linked brake master cylinder.
Riders seat was wearing thin, bought a replacement on Ebay. Pondered for ages where to start on this job. Not perfect but far better than it was.
Replaced one of the choke pistons in a carb.
Front mudguard, rust bubbles in fork brace area, rubbed it down, rust proof, painted. Soon came back, took it to work. Shot blasted both the top and underside, alarmed to see holes appear. Primed it, fibre glassed the underside, filler in the top. Colour matched at a local DIY store. hand brushed, not brilliant but, several years later, rust hasn't returned.
Replaced a few hoses on the engine.
Rev counter bouncing and engine stalling. That's another thread.
Definitely a bike to tinker with
