Indicator warning/which indicators fit?

My orange G11 just started flashing the bulb-out warning light, and an arrow pointing left, but all my indicators still work fine. It just does it intermittently, but I have checked the connections and it seems to be hooked up ok. Is there anything else that could cause this warning?

Also - I bought some indicators last year and immediately found that I cannot fit them to the front. The Guzzi has this wierd 'club-foot' design with the wiring going down the stalk as usual, but then mounting to the bike with a seperate screw. I did toy with the idea of using 2 aluminium plates with the stalk mounting sandwiched between the two, but it looked damn messy.

Is there a particular name for the club-foot mounting style? Only Aprilia and Guzzi seem to use this system.

Buell used it too. It is a bit fragile in my opinion but it does make the wiring and mounting more streamlined.

And the Buell idicators are pretty nice, with rubber stalks for flexibilty and dual lenses for looks.
I have not priced them since H-D folded Buell, but they used to be very reasonably priced as well.

Had the same thing on my 08 G11, but for the Right Front indicator. In my case that particular light didn't flash, and the rear flashed twice as fast.
Worked maybe 80% of the time. Tried a quick fix of a new bulb, to no avail, and wrote it off as 'coming over All Italian on me' :( until it got irritating enough to fix !
Turned-out to be the 'quick-disconnect' 2-wire plug under the dash had backed-out a little (vibration probably). Unusually, there is no retaining catch/clip on these....
You'll have to take off the Instrument cowl and the dash to get at it. Lotsa little 2.5 or 3mm hex bolts.
I put a piece of large diameter shrink-wrap tube over the connectors and shrunk to fit.

Thought I would post my info to this thread. Since I've have two turn-signal stems break recently on my '07 Griso I called the local MG dealer. The parts guy was nice enough to offer the advice of using $14 Buell indicators instead of the $70 MG replacements. What I bought is spec'd for a '07 Buell Lightning. I think it's the same as on other models as well.

It doesn't come with a nut for attaching it though. It needs an 8mm x 1.0mm-thread nut. So if you're going this route you will need to buy this nut also, and probably a washer.

Nice thing about this assembly is that you can swap the heads. So if you would prefer to stick with the factory chrome one, it is easy to do.
