Have a 2000 Jackal that I usually handle the light maintenance on, but something going on, and not sure whats up. At lower RPM's in any gear the bike is knocking and pinging. I saw Rich Arimotos post on checking the voltage on the TPS; except I jumpered at the actual connector that plugs into the potentiaometer--not sure if this would make a difference. he said to jumper at the ECU. Anyways, I got 4.8 VOLTS, which is alittle scary, when its supposed to be 150 mVOLTS. YIKES! So then I tried adjusting the potentiometer, and the voltage never changed.
Any advice? Is the potentiometer bad? Would the bike even run if it was bad?
