Hello all,
Tomorrow I get my bike delivered and I was wondering how I should break in the motor, what I should do to fix any issues that might come up (I've read about a charging problem). From what I've these bikes seem sensitive. I'm used to Suzuki so I'm not used to asking "Are you ok?" everyday. Any info is appreciated. I'm near San Diego, if anyone is local I'd like to get together and ride and talk Guzzi.

When I broke my 2015 V7 in I simply kept it below 6,000 rpm and stayed away from full throttle until after the initial 600 mile service.

Remember that you will always see a high number of problems about any bike posted on-line; a combination of folks looking for help and chronic complainers. I've had zero trouble with my 4 Guzzis.

The V7 is a very solid bike. It has a couple of idiosyncrasies, but from my experience that's the nature of Italian bikes. Break it in and then ride it like you stole it.
 
Well, the biggest problem is the fairly universal lack of a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection). You pay for it, but it just doesn't happen. Go over the bike. If you have a charger, put it on the battery. Check the clutch adjustment. For some reason, it may go out of adjustment fairly often on the new models.

Try to keep it under 5K RPM for the first six hundred miles. The first service is critical. The head bolts must be re-torqued and the valves adjusted.

While you're checking the cables, check the throttle cables; mine came from the dealer very loose, especially the return cable. With the cables properly adjusted, the throttle feel improved immensely.
 
Does anyone have a PDI list associated with the V7? I ask because I plan on picking mine up soon and wish to have them check the VR before I take possession in lieu of the issues some have had with theirs. I want to know what else I should be looking for as well!

I bought my 2015 V7 Stone in late October and have 650 miles on her. Plan to run her down to the dealership for first service very soon.

I love this bike!

Did you find that you have to let the clutch out before it will engage and allow the shifter to place the bike in first gear?
When the clutch lever is fully pulled back you can drop the shifter into first but it won't be in any gear, still in neutral.
But if you hold the lever away from the grip about 3/8" it will click right into gear and be fine.
I've never had a bike do this.
 
Congrats about your purchase. I am riding v7 racer 2 for only 250 km and really looking it.

Somebody had a nice list posted last week. If you look maybe you can find it.
 
all Guzzi clutch's seem to have two adjustments. hot and cold. Both will be quite different. just make sure there is a bit of free play at the lever both hot and cold. Most likely because the cable runs across the hot engine and transmission and stretch. also it takes 1000miles to loosen up the shifting a bit. Give it some time.
 
Thanks for the responses, my friends are stressing me out. I wanted a 750 w/shaft drive and abs under $9000. The V7 is the first bike that came up, Its just a bonus that it looks so freaking awesome! I really wanted the Legend kit but that's way too much.
