I am using the Euro setup for front turn signals. I'm using an 1157 socket and amber 1157 bulb, which works fine but is not very bright. I tried replacing the 1157 incandescent bulb with an 1157 LED bulb. The bulb does not light and the "bulb out" warning shows in the dash display. Has anyone replaced the incandescent bulb with an LED bulb? What bulb and socket did you use? Thanks.

I helped someone with this. Though I thought his bulbs did work, just that the dash error message showed.
Anyway, I had him put a small resistor in PARALLEL with the LED bulb, and that fixed the error indication. It was likely a 470 ohm, 1/2 watt resistor.

I would first check the polarities of the bulb socket.

Theoretically, the side of the bulb should be grounded and the bottom of the bulb should be connected to the positive.

Incandescent bulb will work if you mixed up the polarity but LED (a diode) won't.

Cheers,
Phang
