Just gotta escape the gloom and the marine layer here on the coast at MDR and get a ride in the sun on Labor Day. Methinks Angeles Crest to Wrightwood or even to Big Bear might be a good option. Any other takers?

Dave & I planning to meet at the Starbucks at Oro Vista & Sunland about 11AM. I'll probably be on the S. Dave, you on the 1200 Sport? Speaking for myself, Wrightwood sounds good, I don't know about Big Bear....

It looking like just you and me, Bob. Everyone else must have their bike in bits or have something better to do. Can't imagine what that could be .....

Traditional (for American's) Labor Day family BBQ perhaps? See ya there. Also, correction (always get this wrong) Starbuck's is at Oro Vista & Foothill, not Oro Vista & Sunland. Think everyone who takes this ride knows that anyway, Sunland runs in to & becomes Foothill. Cheers.

Dave & I had a great ride, Sunland to Wrightwood. Zero LEO's & minimal 4-wheel traffic (thank you Rt 2 closure from La Canada, keeps most of the 4-wheel folk off "our" road, I've decided the longer it stays that way the better), actually fewer bikes than I expected. Temps quite comfortable. From Wrightwood Dave elected to go down the back side (Valyermo, etc). Since it was 83 F in Wrightwood at 5000', higher seemed better to me, & I retraced my steps to Newcomb's, where I found Rich R & his Scura, & Nicolle (ex of Pro Italia) & her 750 whatever Duc. After some chit chat, I continued down the hill, Rich & Nicolle continued on up. How did we survive with the Crest partially/completely closed for several years.....?
