Lead ban causes ban on Kid's motorcycles in U.S.

As we all know, children do not eat, lick or mouth ATV or OHM parts. ATVs and OHMs should be granted an exclusion because the lead-containing components pose no risk of causing an increase in blood lead levels in children. Congress even included a common-sense exclusion from the new lead restrictions and we need Congress to urge the Consumer Product Safety Commission to grant this common sense exclusion.

Before I sign anything ... why is there lead anyway in the products we're talking about, and/or in what parts?
 
"Lead is found in steel and other metal alloys in the frame, motor and multiple other parts, said Paul Vitrano, general counsel for the Motorcycle Industry Council. The lead strengthens the metals and resists corrosion."
Lead is also used in lead/acid batteries. Guzzis are made with lead as well, but they are not sold for kids 12 and younger.
