I've read and read and re-read forum threads about changing rear tires on every version of MG. Zip-tie technique, hand irons versus tire rods; pretty much the gamut. Looking at the rear half of my 2013 V7 I keep coming back to the same question: why are the majority of threads saying they leave the final drive in place even though the process appears to be more fiddly?
Looking at it through my eyes (the uneducated) it seems pulling the final drive cuts the job in half. Easier off, easier to re-install the cush-blocks... etc. Only disadvantage I see is breaking the seal at the final and driveshaft.
What am I missing?
