G'day Everyone,

This is a bit of forward planning, If I need to lift my bike to, say change a front or rear wheel, is it possible to lift the bike from the sump using a wide foot print or lift designed for bikes. Not sure on the strength of the sump. I do not have a centre stand. I know their are plenty of motorcycle lifts out their but would value any thoughts.

Aren't bikes without a centrestand a real pain, made worse if they also have a single-sided swinging-arm.

While I've never needed to do it, I'd have confidence that my Breva could be raised on a broad lifter under the sump.

I have done it with a couple of bits of 4 x 2 and a couple of car jacks on the B, no worries. Except when it statred to fall off, caused a bit of grunting to get it back on.

My B1100 , 07 was a mid year production change. It came with norge controls and no center stand. I kind of improvised. Ist not an engineering marval , but it does the tric. I havent removed the wheels yet,but when I do i will put some out riggers on blocks for support

(I saw a newly uncrated 1200Sport 8v this evening - it has the same collector box underneath.)

Perfectly visible on Max's freshly posted pics & video.

At least it'll make it easier for us Europeans to change the muffler without fussing about emissions homologation ;)
