Hey.

Had a low speed drop with my Griso 8V, she went down on her right hand side, luckily the damage was minimal but I am furious that my rear brake lever didn't bend. Instead the RH rear plate sheared where the pivot of the lever attached. I would have thought that the lever would have taken the fall not the plate.
Are there any other weak points I should know about?

Had similar dismount last month, i.e., low-speed right-hand, lowsider.

Damage included what you described plus Stelvio handguard, valve cover, oil-cooler cover, and --thanks to CARC guard I bought from Todd -- nada to CARC.

Was, as you, most surprised by the brake-lever pivot point taking out the slab, especially as I had been told that the maintenance stand spool would prevent that. A $410 not.

had the same damage a few years ago. Replaced the side plate and had to get a new rear brake assembly cost altogether around $500

Bending of the brake lever would not have helped. If yours didn't bend then just be glad. It's $150 less you'll need to spend to get your Griso on the road again. I went down on the rt side a little over a year ago. Maybe my crash was a little different than yours. I washed out the front tire while moving forward (slight lean, cold tires, too sudden on the brake maybe, something slick??)

Anyway, it bent my foot-brake lever back almost 180° before snapping off the tab it's mounted to. Busted off the foot peg too of course. Strangely, the foot peg was only $8 to replace at the local MG dealership! Something about it being a common Aprilia part.

Ruined the "spark plug cover", that plastic skid on the engine. That was $45 but worth it to save the metal. Ground it halfway down.

And it scuffed up the oil cooler house's lower corner (I repaired this myself with JB weld) and ground the bar end weight a little.

All in all it's not too bad for hitting the ground hard at 20 mph. These are tough bikes.
