Hey all,
Just bought my first Guzzi....used to ride an old R100/7 bemmer. Sold a few years ago and have not found a bike I like enough to hold onto. I am riding a 1995 California 1100 and enjoying it greatly. She really does handle well on my last few rides of the year. We are expecting snow in the next few weeks so the season will be over for me....I have not been able to find a service manual and need to do a bit of trouble shooting (must have a short somewhere). The alternator does always charge.

Anyone know where I can get a service manual in English?

She is carbed. Interesting, I usually end up with the odds out of the "odds and ends". Hope that doesn't complicate things for repairs in the long run.
Thanks,
Jim

What will give you the most trouble is the cable system for the carbs. Guzzi used a cheap plastic splitter for the system and it is practically impossible to get the carbs in sync, and then stay any where close to synchronized. The best solution is to convert to a two cable system using a Tomaselli throttle. The ignition module can sometime be a pain, but it isn't too bad. It either works or it doesn't. Valve adjustment is like the 1100s, .004 inch intake and .006 inch exhaust. The bike is basically a California III with an 1100 engine and different ratio rear drive. There are some other small differences but they aren't worth mentioning now.

I have a pdf of the workshop manual that included English. It is not comprehensive (the original printed version wasn't either).

PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.
