A new engine noise at around 4500 kms. Wap,wap, wap like flapping seemingly coming form the left head. The bike has had its 1st service and valves adjusted. Also had the cam recall work done. Maybe not done properly or just a new stage of break-in ? The bike seems to be running good and the noise doesn't happen all the time. Any suggestions or like stories with solutions appreciated.
Cheers, Steve

No idea Steve but do a search on the cam changes for the MY 2010 8V's and on. If the recall was done by someone who didn't know you may of got the shimable cams fitted without shims. It HAS happened before. Double check to ensure that further damage doesn't occur.

Thanks Pete but think its all in my head about this noise .I've been out on a couple of 3,000 km runs since and no problems. Seems to be really loud ( clangky) when its hot . Its just a noisy engine I think which sort of surprises me for a new 8V . My Norge was noisy all the time cold or hot but didn't expect it from the new motor . I'm coming up for the 10,000 km check so will have them look at the cams or at least do an assessment on it . Your mention of no shims gives me some concern and should look after these things before the warranty is up . Other than being noisy as hell when its hot the bike has run great and I thrash her pretty much all the time so . After reading on this forum about similar concerns I guess I'm not alone . If anyone has had cam problems after the recall because of no shims I'd like to hear from you . I'll check in after I see my dealer . Cheers, Steve
