Anybody installed a compass on the handlebar. Any recommendation on the make of compass.
Thanx

Vibration may not be your friend here. May I suggest an electronic one such as in a Satnav device or a smartphone?

Any normal magnetic compass would be useless on a bike as the metal mass of the bike would cause so much Deviation as to make any reading very inaccurate. There are electronic compasses about which will self correct for deviation, usually involving driving in a complete circle while the device learns the deviation correction. I had one years ago which worked fairly well. They are used a lot in the marine world too.
However, as satnavs are now relatively inexpensive, I would go that way, they work as a compass too, without the deviation issue.

+1 Compasses don't like steel. You certainly couldn't put them on handle bar with any luck. Airplanes have a mag compass in them in case the DG (Directional Gyro) quits, but they also have a deviation card on them that shows you what direction your going as opposed the compass' indication. The compass is only allowed to be a few degrees off even with the Deviation card, and they also have a couple of adjustable bars in them that will help you correct them.
