Just received Bike back from workshops having had cam lifters replaced (at 3000 km).
Bike seems to be running quite smoothly and getting use to the unique noises the Guzzi seemingly makes :).
However I found when accelerating and in particularly when going through the gears (1-3) from a standstill that the bike loses power at around 5500 rpm. In the higher gears it seems to go beyond the 5500 rpm mark without this happening. Almost feels like there is a governer on the bike or that there is fuel starvation. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

FWIW, I had a similar experience with my Griso, i.e., the onset of a sudden, unexplainable (to me as I was riding) loss of power at X RPM (cannot remember X, but think it was in the upper 4's.

Anyway, turns out I had managed to block the under-seat intake for the air intake! Ran fine at idle all the way out to redline, but a load starved it, thus the power loss.

YMMV, but consider the possibility.

Best wishes on finding the cause of your issue.

Bill

What is your Traction Control set at?

Thank you James and Bill for your responses.
The traction control is on 3 but will try a lower setting.
Will also look at where air intake is situated and see that it’s not been obstructed due to weight on seat. Have arranged to take back in to work shop to be looked at- Stuart
