Motorcycle.com Review of the 1400!

Agreed. I watched a Tor test of the Norge 8VGT on Utube. He was a competent reviewer unlike others I've read.

Based on his comments, seems MG addressed the one concern of California (tall) riders. That is leg comfort. Can't wait for a test ride. One photo showed the bike leaned way over - farther than of any HD cruiser I've seen.

Too bad for me that the 2013 MGNOC national is on the other side of the continent. Hopefully a nearby dealer will have one for test driving.

From the photos and the review, I think they have done a pretty good job with this bike. Not a Harley derivative with its own style and with an emphasis on performance (not just in a straight line either!), in keeping with Guzzi's tradition.

I am not a cruiser fan and cannot see the use in having a bike so large, however this is what the market obviously wants, and if I were in the market for a cruiser this would be at the top of the list (though I would buy the mark 2 version after they have ironed out the inevitable problems that come with Guzzi's clean sheet designs).

The only thing that would be worrying is the heat issue (here in Australia at least). I know the engine is larger, however it is only around 200ccs bigger than my 1200 Sport (which doesn't suffer from this issue) and has a massive oil cooler which should disperse some of the heat. Maybe it is the stricter emision laws it needs to meet (Euro 4 or 5?)?
