Hi i see all the pcv and ecu flash etc etc .Has anyone fitted one of these to a guzzi www.afrtuner.com . I know of a few people on another forum who have used these on other italian machines with great results . Some are running with switchable maps for when they are touring at motorway speeds to improve economy .Like a pcv 5 or similar these constantly monitor your AFR and adjust to suit all the variables eg partial blocked air filter /pipes etc . I must add that 1 person i know has done 80/000 miles and has had fantastic reliability and perfect running since installing this unit . Another unit i see advertised is a memjet fueler which i think just actually fools the ecu into thinking its running cooler and thus increases afr . I am sure some one here will put me right if i have got it wrong lol .

Just a few thoughts... I'm not sure how it interfaces the ECU, but a "generic" wiring kit bothers me, and secondly you still would not have access to the fueling below 40% throttle with stock 02-sensor/lambda in place, unless you coupled it with an 02/lambda fooler, then at the buy in price the PC-V & AutoTune is cheaper and better proven in my book.

Does your friend who uses this have an older style ECU/bike?

Hi, he replaced the standard lambda sensor with the bosh item they recommend on the site .He has adjustments where ever he wants it . IF you are after the techy descriptions etc i would have to call the manufacture .He purchased the motty long before the latest pcv came out .I know of a lot of people who use tune boy set up on other brands of bike which in a lot of cases even offers up full diagnostics for you make and model .I know tune boy reprograms the ecu but also allows you to keep the oe map on file to just flash back when required .I may be wrong but i believe the motty interfaces in the same way as the pcv ,like i say i may well be wrong .Give me some carbs any day lol .

You can't just remove/replace the stock sensor, or you will get an error code and very poor running unless the sensor/lambda is deleted from the ECU/circuit.
Growing up riding and racing carbs, I'll take injection any day rather then cleaning jets all the time, like I still have to do on my dirt-bikes (well outside of my injected Husky 510 that is).

from the Motty manual

If the motorcycle is equipped with some kind of air injection system for the exhaust
gases then for the correct operation of the lambda sensor such system must be
disabled.

my understanding is operation is basically the same as the PCV with AT.
does the PCV with AT allow for AFR over the full range, idle to max?

Air injection is mainly found on bikes with ram-air.
Your question is very well covered in the PC-V thread, but in short, the PC-V only has access to 40%+ throttle without disabling the 02-sensor/lambda.

Good, so assuming the Motty AFR is also compatable, Guzzi owners have a choice of closed loop self mapping fuel injection options.

Also how's your recovery coming
