Sorry, if this is a very newbie type of question... And maybe it's not that mysterious, but it's the first time this has ever happened.
I don't post here often, but you have all been a great resource, so I thought someone might be able to provide some insight.
I went to the gas station this morning to fill up before heading out for a ride. I was at ~125 miles, so I probably had about a 1/4 of a tank or so left. Nothing unusual filling up until all of a sudden I see some smoke and look down and see fuel leaking (more than just a few drips) from underneath the tank and on to the bike and ground. I immediate stop the pump and try to see where the leak is coming from, but by the time I look, I can't see anything - no drips, etc.
My tank isn't full, so I decide to very carefully pump some more fuel while looking down at the ground to make sure no more fuel is hitting the bike or the ground. The fuel is now staying in the tank. I fill up and wait a bit to see if there is any more leaking, but nothing. It stopped as soon as it started. I went on a nice ride and decided I'd fill up again before parking my bike.
I thought the morning incident may have been a one off, but the same thing happened again this afternoon. The tank was not full, probably about 2/3 or maybe 3/4 full (both times) when the leak began. It's pretty much an exact repeat of the morning fill up. I drive home, park the bike, and everything seems fine.
Any ideas? This has never happened before.
I have had my Guzzi for one year now and love it, but it does seem to have some quirks. I've read many of the oil leak posts here as well....
Thank you! I've added a photo of me and my bike to my profile/avatar.
