High Miler
I am less than please with the rear tire wear on the Stelvio, 4500 miles on the USA roads and the thing is toast.
My Stelvio will have 30,000 miles a year put on it and at 4500 miles per tire that will be about 7 rear tires a year at about $160 a tire = $1120.00 just for a rear tires.
If I am able to use a Metzeler Tourance I will get me at least double the mileage at the same price. So I figure the cost of a new rear wheel will pay for itself in approx. 2 yrs. just on monies saved on tires.
My quest is to get a 4.5" NTX / TT rear wheel or the parts and supplies to make one.
My dealer has requested information from Guzzi USA and they tell him that the wheel in question is not DOT approved and can not be sold in the USA. I believe that is BS only because I have been told it is the same wheel manufacture, just 1" narrower.
Now can anyone in Europe get me the part numbers of the 4.5" complete wheel assembly? And maybe a dealer that would work with me to export one to Virginia, USA.
My other option would be just to purchase the 4.5" bare rim and have it placed / laced on my present hub. I would need to know if the spokes are the same between the two wheels as well, I am going to guess they would be the same but I do not know if these spokes are reuseable with the "O" ring design.
My dealer claims that he can not even look up parts for the NTX / TT so he can not supply me with the informtion I am requesting.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
