Hi

I had fitted over weekend an Agostini carbon silencer by my local Guzzi dealer. Weighs about as light as a feather compared to OEM stock silencer!

Rode it home about 15 miles without baffle in and was a touch noisy so have put baffle back in today and will try later this week. Still sounds great on drive just blipping the throttle.

I will report back later this week.

You have the wrong Agostini! as does Google too
That was Giacomo Agostini ,The dealership in Mandello was founded by Duilio Agostini ex Moto Guzzi factory rider in the 50's and 60's and early 70's.
He retired and let his 2 daughters Alis and Lindy run the shop.Alis ran the shop untill a few years when she sold it,but the name lives on.(there is no connection between the two men apart from being very good at road racing)
That is who you bought the muffler off.

Nice.

I also noticed the guard ahead of that for the pipe. Tell us about that.

Zoom Zoom,
John Henry

Hi JH
If its the guard by the rear peg then its standard OEM Guzzi fitment on my 2011.

Sorry JH
I think you maybe referring now to the pannier bracket that comes with the plastic Guzzi pannier system?

In the pic it appears to be a heat shield for the passenger peg. Looks like it attaches to the back of the bracket for the peg.

John Henry

Mark, no need to bow to me.You will just have to watch over your shoulder .You may have visit from the Boys of the Mandello Mafia, they may not give you concrete boots but may apply a testicle clamp to your good self for confusing your Agos. :p

Crikey Thanks! :eek:hmy:

You can buy them from the shop in Italy I think (I got mine on eBay via a UK Guzzi dealer-last one!)

if you do a search on "agostini" on the forum it will bring some earlier posts and on one there is a link to the shop website.

Not alot of help but you should find it.

By the way the bike now sounds great, (with baffle in) and seems to go quicker (maybe just the rasping silencer noise) but also appears to be more economical like by about 7 MPG!

I wont tell you what i got mine for money wise as it was very reasonable against new!

If you want any more info ask?

Very nice indeed I saw this and I think you must have beat me to it congrats I've been trying to get one though agostinis website with no luck has anyone else had a problem with their site or am I just lucky?
