New Hyperpro shock makes a world’s difference on B

No matter how I set the stock rear shock, I just could not get it right. Set hard enough for my great weight-250 lbs in full gear-it rattled my dental fillings. Set soft enough to give a nicer ride and I had to really muscle it around the twisties. Initially, I was worried that the shock I purchased from Todd didn’t have a remote adjuster, but Todd assured me the shock is set at the factory for me, my weight and riding style, which is moderately aggressive. I did not get chance to install it as I was preoccupied with another problem mentioned on this board but did finally get to it last night. All in all, I followed the suggestions as mentioned by other on the topic and removal of old shock was fairly straight forward. I didn’t lose the BB but did bugger the screw in the middle of the twist grip. Eventually I removed rear wheel and disconnected one link which allowed me to twist the Sacks out through the bottom without disturbing battery box. New Hyperpro went in without a hitch. So much easier that stock. Test ride today made both the ride and handling truly amazing! What a drastic difference it made. Really, just what I thought it would be. Well worth the money!

Not being adjustable is the deal breaker for me. Don't know from day to day if I'll be riding solo, with pillion, solo with luggage, pillion with luggage.

Hello;

I did the upgrade as well. Set it once for my weight + a smidgen for fully loaded with long distance gear, and NEVER looked back. No need to adjust it.... We're not racing, just agressive driving... I can't drive it up to the adjustable requirement level as road conditions, traffic, are too variable to hit that level of riding.

If it were on the track, i might agree that adjustability is absolutely required.

Thanks Bob/Sam! Happy to hear of another happy HP recipient. ;)

Geordie, I am currently working on developing a fully adj. model with HP. Are you willing to spend the money on the (461) fully adjustable version, and send me your shock if it turns out we can re-use the OEM pre-load adjuster?

it's not on my high priority spending list at the moment, especially with £/$ rates as they are!

Heh, hence the issue... build it, and no one comes. :side:
No worries, watch for future info here. I am developing the prototype for my Norge SS (currently under construction). ;)

if my compensation for my accident comes through at the right level I'll most certainly be looking to upgrade the suspension. I'm not wealthy though!

Gotta watch all your price points guys. You'll price yourself right out of this economy. I can see it happening already.

True, but sometimes, you get what you pay for. As for adjustability, the HP is adjustable, spring preload, and valving. There just isn't a knob to grab hold of. I too am very happy with the outcome of the HP shock install on the Norge. It was a complete transformation to the bike. Worth the $$$

My 2 cents.

Same here. I have the rear shock and the front springs with the valving upgrade and the bike handles way better than stock.

No debate about it being better than stock.
