Hi @ all!
Registered forum member yet since april 2011 but missed to say hello "officially" til today - sorry for that!
Nevertheless i read quite often the forum from the 2nd row and i feel that i have to thank so for lots of helping infos i found, notably contributed by GT-Rx, peter roper, john zibell, belfastguzzi (and a lot of other nice people)!
After reentering the "bike scene" somewhat 3 years ago with what i call "back to the roots", a Griso Tenni bargain was bought and the real heartbeat was set. Sadly at the end of season an idiot kicked me off the bike - me: some bruises, the guzzi: economic total loss. But: my dealer (MG Bäcker) made me an offer that I could not refuse so a new Tenni was ordered and that has been the construction site the last 2 years.
Meanwhile a used BMW Rockster (or so called a guzzi with sagging tits…) with really few mileage was purchased too as a plan B, in case of guzzi failures which there have been al lot (most of them i recovered here in the forum)…
Hopefully my english is not too bad and and I often find the time to share my own thoughts and experiences about Guzzis!

cheers!

diedel

Good to "meet" you.

Regrets and following congratulations on your Tenni loss and replacement. I almost bought a Rockster when I was looking for a plaything to share the garage with my beloved but more sedate EV. A red Ballabio showed up at the dealer when I stopped in to kick tires one day, and lust took over.

Since then, I (stupidly) sold the Ballabio, but added a Norge and Griso. It's all good.

Just checked on location of Wuppertal. While it does not appear that you are in the heart of grand riding on technical roads, google maps' terrain feature shows some fine roads to your east just a bit. Presume you know them all.

My dream -- which may only be that -- is to ship my Norge to Europe after retirement and ride a few months there with Kathi. Have my mother's family down near the Boden See, and I love Germany for all sorts of "genetic" reasons, but northern Italy always calls strongly. If, as you, I lived so close to those grand roads and vistas, not sure I could have a balanced life.

Anyway, glad you posted. Hope to see some pix of your Guzzis (and even Rockster) soon.

Dietrich, congrats and welcome! Sorry to hear of your unfortunate circumstances, but being able to get back on a bike is ALWAYS good, especially if it's a Guzzi!

Your English is more then good, stick around, and post often!

Thank you Todd, i'll do my best!

Dietrich, compliments on your bike, I keep going back to the pictures thread to look at it. I particularly like the stance of your bike compared to my (so far) stock SE. I think it mostly has to do with the lower handlebar and mirrors. The heftier seat enhances the aggressive look as well (although I prefer the seam on mine). And if i am not mistaken your side stand keeps the bike more upright than normal. Very nice look overall.

Would you mind sharing details about your clip-on handle bars ?

Hi, sorry for responding that late, but just the other day i have been on the way to make my handlebar setup "official"... As you may know in Europe and especially in f...ing old Germany quite everything need to be covered by official appraisal... thanks to EU-licenserules. So it was a overnight tour within 900 Km to catch an inspector who knows about bikes and gave me and my guzzi absolution in case of the handlebars and the carc-lever.

DÄS Mototec ( http://www.daes-mototec.com ) Handlebars:

Very expensive and long shipping times but they are really perfect and you have a great freedom of setting options!
But difficult to get it in the bike papers…
