Hello I just found this site and found it very interesting.

I own a 1972 Ambassador 750 that is a restoration project, 164000 miles on her and still running, but in need.

I have a small shop in the Lake Norman area, I sell, service, and restore. European cars and motorcycles, I specialize in Ferraris

Have done a few bikes but this Guzzi is my first full resto, I'm excited.

check out my website, www.sportclassiccomp.com

Thanks and hope to get lots of good knowledge from this site.

Hey Wade,

Welcome to the Guzzi world....you won't find a better bunch than Guzzi riders.

Might be some confusion on your bike. An Ambassador would be a 750, and Eldorado an 850. The Eldo's came out in '72...I bought a new one in October of that year. I believe there might have been some Ambos made in early '72.
.....unless your Ambo had an 850 kit, or conversion done....

There is a VIN# registry that can help you sort out the origin of your bike. There are several "gurus" who could narrow it down more than I can, and probably know the address to the registry.

Yes your are right and I knew that, (big fingers numbers too close together) anyway. Would love to know more about the registry. I found this bike under a cover next to an old barn in North Carolina. The owner was the original one who lived in La. and Tx. rode the bike daily. Lots of add ons to it that will definatly have to be removed. Wixom fairing, spot lights, air horns, and a large obnoxious cissy bar.

Can't wait to start tearing it apart.

Hi Wade, welcome to the Forum! Nice work you have/do there... Southeast Guzzisti should feel lucky to have you here for future work/knowledge.

As for the bike/technical data, drop in on the Tonti/Loop section of this Forum for the quickest replies about your Guzzi.

Post often, and again welcome.

Hi Wade. Good to hear from you! I'm just a few hours east of you in Oriental. That looks like a great business you have there. Some really cool cars.

Good luck!
