New Quill pipe for a Breva 1200

Hi,
no problems with clearance, did 150 miles, box didn't get warm, very nice sound, and no problem with fueling, as I said, it pulls harder in the midrange, and I will keep an eye on the consumption.

Regards Bobelpfan

All interesting stuff. When I eventually get my crashed  Breva 1200 back, and I've sold the spare bike I bought to play with in the meantime, I'd like to consider one of those pipes. Only confusion is - How much ? :?: I had a look at their web site, but could see no prices. Do you mind telling us what yours cost Bob? :)
Cheers.

Hi,

Because I went for the plain stainless pipe, without carbon /titanium, on the basis that the weight wouldn't be much different, the stainless is over 2 kilos lighter than the stock pipe, as it eliminates the catalyser, and nearly all the popping on the overrun as well, the price was exactly £200, which was for me to go directly to the factory, they made a specific stainless crossover whilst I was there, they have a stock of crossovers there to suit most bikes, or will make one on the day from scratch.

They also did the dyno run after fitting the new pipe free of charge, and I am delighted with the quality, they give an unlimited lifetime warranty on all their pipes, and make rotten coffee, but are very nice people to deal with.

Crikey! Am I reading that correctly? That is superb value for money. I'm gagging to get my Breva back and get one of those fitted.
Thanks for that Bobelpfan.
Regards to you.

Hi,

I have only just got through the first tank of gas, slightly worse on mileage than before, but I think it is the pilot nailing it to make nice noises, combined with more hard acceleration to enjoy the much beefier midrange causing that !
Yes £200 is right, excellent for the build quality and improvement overall. Sounds better with the Laminar Lip and a better quality helmet cutting out the buffeting and wind noise, which WILL damage your hearing without decent earplugs, be warned !!

Regards Bobelpfan

I'd fitted a Teo Lamers high screen on the Breva three days before I crashed. It was a big improvement over the other options I'd tried; Original screen/Original screen with lip/Skidmarx low screen. There was just a bit of a 'drumming' sound over 70 mph, but I didn't mind that as I want to ride more slowly these days. The last sound the screen made was Kerrraack ! (See my avatar).
I'm gagging to get the Breva back (it's been two months) so I can get the Quill pipe fitted and really hear that twin sound.

Motonuzzi.

Hi

You did well on the price. On their old website you could see the prices and options and nothing was that cheap. Maybe yours was the first 1200 that they could use as a prototype ? I've been quoted £340 for a Tri-Oval in stainless and I've ordered one anyway as I've been thinking about getting one for some time. This has helped my decision.
Sounds like the neighbours are in for a wake up call soon when I go off to work in the mornings !!

Cheers

Phil

I'm looking for something quite shorter than the standard missile launcher. Something like the Quill powercone could do nicely...
