Thought I'd pass this on to Moto Guzzi V7 and V7 II owners...

A shop opened in New York State in June that is selling the recommended oil (ENI i-Ride PG 10W-60 ) for $13.50/litre with shipping included. Payment is by PayPal. Site here: http://www.staccatocycle.com.

I ordered four litres today and received notification, in less than two hours, that my order had shipped.

The owner, Anthony Bottino, told me that he is not yet carrying AGIP Gear MG SAE 85W-140 or ENI ROTRA LSX 75W-90, but will consider it. If enough people are interested, it sounds like he might be willing to carry these products.

P.S. The container does not say PG (which stands for Piaggio Group) on the front, but a photo that Mr. Bottino sent me of the side (showing various Piaggo Group marques and the designation 4T) coincides with a photo on the ENI site of the PG version that shows the same markings on the side. It's quite clear that what Mr. Bottino is selling is the oil recommended in the V7 II owner's manual.

In the past I've gotten Castrol 10w-60 oil from BMW car dealers, because one of their former models required this grade. A benefit is that being a "car oil" it has the friction enhancers that are missing from motorcycle oils. They're not put in cycle oils because of the wet clutches used in many bikes. Another benefit of Guzzi shaft drive dry clutches.

All Moto Guzzi's have a dry clutch. Well, anything produced in the last 40 years anyway. Not sure about the older, odder (if that's possible) stuff.

Thought I'd add that the oil has arrived via USPS Priority Mail and is exactly what I wanted. Definitely adding Stacatto Cycle to my vendor list.
