Hi everyone,

I've been reading these forums for a few months now and I've finally decided to sign up and actually be able to communicate with people on here. Not sure why it took me so long!

I have a beautiful v7 stone ii which I bought last year and have been enjoying it every day in the crazy city of London. Everyday I enjoy it more and more.

I've started to get into the mods thing and recently added a classic dart flyscreen which I love.

I'm looking at the fender eliminator I've seen on here too.

The big thing I'm trying to tackle at the moment is changing the handlebars. I unfortunately made the silly mistake of buying a 25mm bar (that went straight back) and now then some ace bars (the reach is too extreme for me) and now settled on some lsl aluminium sport tourer bars. These seem perfect. For now.

I feel confident in most things to do with swapping them over apart from one big thing in my head. Which is drilling the holes for the switch locators. I'm terrified I'm going to put them in the wrong place and stuff everything up.

Does anyone have a simple way of measuring where that hole sits so I can it perfect OK is there a magic measurement that will work with any handlebars for the v7 stone?

I hope this makes sense and thank you for anyone who bothers to read this first post from me.

Thanks

JK

Also I think I've posted a picture on my bike. I call it Tony. It's Italian, it makes sense in my head!

Hi Josh, first congrats and welcome to the GT Famiglia and Forum, as well as the same on the V7. Hope you'll add your info to the Registry thread here; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/v7-registry-picture-thread-add-your-bike.9108/

My trick for the locating pins is to take masking or painters tape, and place it where the pin goes, and align and compress the switch-gear with your hands to imprint the pin location. Hope that helps.

Post often, and again welcome.

This is such an obvious but great trick!! Thanks ever so much for the reply. It's been annoying me for a long old while.

I will add myself to the registry and it's nice to be part of a group of people with such love for Guzzis.

Thanks again!

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice. I fitted the bars at the weekend and they went on perfectly! No problems (so far).

Thanks again!
