There are a few things I can't figure out regarding my new Sport; the user's manual is difficult to follow (by the way, is the shop manual much good, and how much does it cost?).

What are "phonic" wheels? (I swear I saw that referred to someplace, but can't find it now)
What exactly does the LED Immobilizer do?
What's the purpose of the personal code?
The manual describes how to adjust the forks, but all I have up top is a stylized fork-tube cover. Does that unscrew or pop off?

Pop off.

Warning other people that a LED Immobilizer is on board. . .

Thanks much, but what does the LED immobilizer actually do, other than blink in warning?

If you say, "Well, it immobilizes the bike", I'm going to cuss! How, and under what circumstances, is the bike immobilized?

The Immobilizer light is just a warning to those who would consider tampering with the bike, that it is "armed with anti-theft measures." It is basically limited to the chipped key that communicates with the ECU, unless you purchase the OEM alarm.
For the User Code, you will need this should you try to start the bike without the RFID chipped key.

Access to the fork adjusters is under the caps with white eagles on them. Pull the caps and rebound and compression screws are underneath. The caps are just pressed into a recess.

There are two codes you should scribble in your owners manual. The first is your personal code. The second is the code which allows you to access the diagnostic screen and reset your service icon. That code is 36421.

The workshop manual is available online here. If you download it from Todd, drop the man a donation via paypal as a thanks.

Enjoy your bike!

Thanks much for that info!

I have tried to do the shop manual download several times, but the only thing I'm ever able to accomplish is going to screen that offers to let me acquire the Phoca Download Manager. I've tried it using different browsers, I've tried it with all web security disabled, I've even tried sneaking up on it from behind! If anyone has a tip on how to access the downloads, I'd sure love to hear it.

Thanks again, Eric
