Newbie seeking information.

cheers for that, so is it the actual case of the speed sensor that lets in moisture? and if i put some of said greese on it it should be sorted?

Yes, that is my understanding. Mine has not acted up at all since this fix was done.

Best regards,

Bruce

Thanks all, good information!
I've found a bike and plan on picking it up this Saturday.
I'm sure I will be back at you shortly with more questions.
Jeff

That didn't take long - more questions...
Can anyone define the issues, details and the remedies? Not sure if it's the search tool or me but I'm coming up short. Spark plug wire problems and the NGK fix?
Tip valve - I'm assuming that this is for turning off fueling in the case that the bike falls over - what is done - disable? Evap. can - It's mentioned but no details - is this a removal or modification fix?
Thanks in advance - Jeff

The only one of the issues you have listed that I have addressed is removal of the tipover valve. I took the little bugger out and had no more problems with gas causing the paint to bubble.

Is there a chance the grease may wash out in heavy rain? I covered my speed sensor in clear silicone sealant and it has been fine since.

I wondered about that too. So far so good, but it may be that silicone is a better permanent solution.

Re: Newbie seeking information

Hi all , I'm driving a Norge from 2007 and have 80.000 km on the clock. No issues with the bike. Just put in an order for a Stelvio 2011and I'm keeping the Norge too. Is this ECU-reflash also available for the Norge ? The bike could do with the ECU reset between 1500 and 4200 rpm : there is an important dip in the power and torque curve.
I'm new in the forum so looking forward to a lot of possitive exchanges and tips.
I drove 20 years on Honda's (specially VFR 750 , VFR 800 etc) but since 2007 i'm possesed by the MG virus. It's a good virus and I'm not planning to take any medication against it.Take care , Marc (Belgium)

Welcome, Marc! Hondas are nice, efficient machines, but they do not have the soul of a Guzzi, do they? :D
