I have an 07 Norge with a shifting problem (pun lovers enjoy.) When I shift down through the gears in a situation like stopping for a red light the shifter gets stuck in a down position and does not engage a gear. The only way to get it to engage is to pop the clutch out.

Any suggestions?
I hope get a new transmission is not the answer.

Hopefully part # 13 is loose on the preselector shift spline tighten with bolt # 9 or heim joint connecting rod # 12 is out of adjustment

Else it is spring 11 or 14 inside the transmission, rod # 7 is the above mentioned preselecter shift spline that is in the back of the gear box. not catastrophic but not good either

Hey Dan thanks for the quick response. Put about 300 miles on it after putting in some fresh gear oil. At the end of the day it started working correctly. If it doesnt stay fixed I will have to go into the gearbox and fix the springs you pointed out. Fingers crossed it was just old oil song it up.

it might actually be dirt buildup on the linkages especially where Part 10 goes through the footrest hanger. This happened on mine and a disassembly , clean and reassembly did the trick - exactly the same symptoms as you note.

I had exactly the same problem on my Breva. The symptoms described above matched mine too.

So.... lesson learned if you arent sure you changed the transmission oil go ahead and change it. Thanks for the help everybody it works fine now. You can chalk this one up to a bad owner.

No - not a bad owner - an owner that is going through the school of hard knocks - the best teacher in my opinion and we have all been there...
