Norge key coding

lost one of the original keys for my Norge 8v, sourced a new one and got it cut by a locksmith - fitted perfectly but of course wouldnt start the bike as it wasnt programmed. Took it home and followed the procedure i got off this forum - access the diagnosis system, code in - original key in then out and new key in. followed all instructions.

the new key starts the bike but there is a big SERVICE statement on the dash, not a spanner, big letters and a red triangle. the engine runs, bike behaves normally but i cant get the SERVICE and red triangle off the screen, irritating and a bit concerning. When I put the original key back in everything is normal

anyone know what i have missed ?

i will keep the new key as the spare in any event but would be good to know if i can get the warnings off the screen
 
Try going into the menu and seeing if there's any active/memory faults and deleting them. Then try the key again.
