Two weeks ago I noticed that two of the four windshield special washers, as Guzzi likes to call them, were cracked on my Norge. I had always thought these things were made of aluminum but have since discovered that they are actually cheap plastic. Guzzi Management, if you are reading this here's a little tip I'll give you. Don't use a tapered screw in a plastic part because as I have found out it will eventually crack. Anyway, having not wanting to just replace a bad part with a bad part I contacted Lee Bruns on the Wildgoose forum and he was nice enough to make me four replacements washers out of aluminum which look identical to the OEM but should last a lifetime.

If any of you are interested please feel free to email him motopsycho@wat.midco.net . He only wanted $20.00 for the four of them but I know he had some time in these do to polishing them to a chrome like finish so I gave him a bit more. I think these can also be used on the Stelvio and possibly other guzzi models.

I have no interest in this just want to acknowledge his help and pass along the info to others who may be interested in a quality replacement.

Yes, indeed.

As I tend to remove and reinstall my w/s frequently, i.e., about every week or so, I discovered that these were [expletives deleted] plastic early on, but replaced 'em with B11 ones which are not shiny, but are metal and mighty fine.

I do like those, however, will probably order 'em. Lee Bruns is a GREAT Guzzisti.

Thanks.

Bill

In the marine industry they are called stringer washers. Come in all colors.

I know this is a very old thread, but I was wondering if this guy is still around. Two of those cracked on my Norge and I'm looking for replacement. Interestingly, the parts manual doesn't even list those, unless I missed them somehow.
