Added an O2 Optimizer after the first1,000 miles on my V7 Cafe Classic. Runs great, and I want to keep it for all the obvious reasons -- runs stronger, smoother and cooler at low throttle.
But my yellow EFI light comes on within a few seconds after every start and stays lit. No other symptoms of a problem, the bike runs better than before.
I should note that the dashboard was replaced under warranty following an intermittent battery drain that fingered it as the culprit. But the EFI light didn't start coming on until after I installed the O2 Optimizer.
I'm reluctant to remove it. I went to some trouble tucking, tying and taping for a clean install and I don't want to give up the benefits I've gained.
Has anyone else seen this? Did I fudge something up on the install? Would removing the device turn off the light or does it require a dealer reset? Don't want to void the warranty and my dealer is a stickler about non-stock parts.
Any advice appreciated.
