Well, just as the weather seemed to be turning better,I have a non running Stelvio.I was outside the dealer, fortunately, when I noticed oil covering the front of the engine.Turned out to be a fractured oil cooler. The mechanic said he had not seen this before, and has put in a warranty claim, which has been accepted. Now I just have to wait for the new oil cooler to arrive.
Had a look at the new Aprilia Caponord at the dealer, having a test ride shortly.Any one have any thoughts on Aprilia reliability? Just in case I decide on a change!

There's a clue in my user name, I've been a memeber of the AF1 aprilia forum for over 8 years, I had in that time a Futura, two Tuono's and a Caponord, 15k miles on the Futura over 50k miles on the two Tuono's and just 3k miles on the capo (house purchase forced sale)

Total problems 1, yes, one... oil pressure switch leaked on my first Tuono.

The 2009 Tuono Factory did have a problem, big ends, Rotax had made changes to the 2007 engines internals which meant it needed running in for a few more miles and treating with respect, 161mph with 1200 miles on the clock was maybe a bit much...

One of the lads I rode with sold his 04 Tuono with 97k miles on the clock. aprilias have issues like all bikes but I wouldn't hesitate in buying another, if the new Capo had shaft drive I'd already own one.

windy

Shaft drive is the way! :p
Can't be bothered anymore with chains especially on large bore bikes with lots of horses! ;)

Also Aprillia part of same group as Guzzi (Piaggio) and parts supply I understand is worse than Guzzi if you read some of the the forums?
