Good day i have searched but have to ask about an issue i have ocasionally with my 2007 1100 Griso
About every 6th start give or take.... my dash shows the oil light plus service , i checked the oil it is fine... the bike starts right up runs fine .....turn off the key , turn on then again i get the same ...after about four trys the dash goes back to normal
this happens intermitantly , and is anoying as i am fearful that something is kaput....
The bike runs great either way so whats up?
any help would be appreciated as the dealer here in Calgary is :-?
thank you
Keener

Thank you John....i appreciate your reply and have found and checked out the many threads on this issue ....
Seems like a very common problem , and am glad to know what i am up against ....
For others i did a search on .. pressure sensor... and that takes you on much info related to the sensor...
Sounds like Guzzi needs to get their STG ...on this one
Cheers

Couldn't agree more. That sensor has been a problem since it was first used on the Ambassador (V700). However, it is easier to access on the older bikes so it wasn't as big of a PITA as it is on the new CARC machines.

I wonder ....if the sensor in reality is all that important ....i had one fail on a 1992 Ducati 900ss aswell... it started to leak ... On the Duck they are much more accesable just to the right of the clutch , any way it happened on a trip so i ended up just temporaily plugging it off to stop the leak......as time wore on i just left it , making sure to check the oil level as per usual never had an issue ....as in most cases if the oil warning light comes and its for real at speed its really to late anyway to save the engine....
New to Guzzi BUT i would assume they have a good pump .... ;)
Just thinking out loud ...........on this  any thoughts

Hey Keener,

I am in Calgary as well and am experiencing the same problem with my 2007 G11, did you swap out the pressure sensor? did that fix it?

I have this going on with my 2012, code 7 & 8, Bike is in workshop having new cam kit upgrade fitted. Service light with oil pressure warning intermittently coming on off, replace sensor still the same, oil presure all ok so faulty ECU or dash!? Ive done 38000 km including a fair bit of track work here at Phillip Island. Love the bike but just getting a little sick of the constant issues.

Mine is 2006 1100, had been getting the DB7 error, replaced the switch with a genuine unit, touch wood, problem solved.
21mm hex. Ring spanner to remove and replace, annealed the copper washer.

I sat down with the old switch and a pick attempting to induce an error in continuity, ended up throwing in the bin.

Is it similar to the 8V 1200?
