I see in the Stelvio owners manual there is a oil pressure symbol in the display however I have never seen it light up, even with the ignition on and motor not running.

Anybody else notice this.

Does it light up when the dash goes through the 'Christmas Tree' cycle when you turn the key on? I *think* that my Griso turns it off once that has been done as well.

Really, at the end of the day, if it ain't making the 'Dogga-Dogga' noise by now you have nothing to worry about!

Actually it never comes on,..in the book there is a "oil can" symbol. Its never come on on at any stage. Strange really, on most vehicles there is a red light or symbol that gos out when the engine is started.

im not worried, as you say its still running but its a little weird

There is nothing. Zilch. I have yet to see ANY oil indication of any type. Even after an oil change when it usually takes a couple seconds for pressure to show up. I'm not even sure where the sending unit is or I would pull the wire for a test. I know it isn't in the usual spot for the 2 valve motors.
Nothing like zipping down the road at night time and suddenly having the bright red triangle come on and a huge SERVICE message show on the display. Your first thought is no oil pressure. Then as you sit there in the middle of nowhere wondering what to do, you realize that is simply a dead speedometer sensor.
But there is a sensor and it is wired to the dash, so it should indicate something somehow.

i can assure you all that the Stelvio has both red warning and a little pic of an oil can - mine came on when the sender went wrong. only 900 miles and just run-in - oh and it took two weeks to get a replacemnt into the dealers. i might live in the north of england but this is not encouraging - last three bikes (over 11 years) have all been BMW's and the service has always been prompt. still Moto Guzzi has more character?

Hi Wilb, I see you live in Gisburn, I think a branch of the Moto Guzzi owners club meet up at a pub near there. I'm about 40 miles away in St Helens.
